YOUTH & FAMILY PROGRAM

ProMusica’s Youth & Family Program is a collaborative effort designed to engage at-risk youth through music experiences at local after school programs and social service agencies. Individual musicians and the education manager visit classrooms at least twice to discuss music and instruments. The program aims to break down the barriers of enjoying classical music and provides opportunities to engage children in the beauty and power of music and the arts.

The culminating event of the program is Youth & Family Day, a full day of musical activities open to the entire Columbus community. All are invited to enjoy a variety of chamber music, including a string quartet, brass quintet, and woodwind quintet. Arrive before the performance for a chance to explore the instruments of these different chamber ensembles and participate in family-friendly activities involving music and art.

2013 Youth & Family Day date coming soon!
