Ruth Stroud graduated from Oberlin and earned a Master of Music degree from Boston University, where she studied with Roman Totenberg. She has held summer fellowships at Tanglewood, at Harvard University in contemporary music, and with the Guarneri String Quartet. For fifteen years, she performed with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Opera Columbus, and is presently a string specialist with the Columbus Public Schools. She is a member of the Adams Trio and also performs with many other small ensembles in Central Ohio. Ruth has played first violin with ProMusica since the orchestra's inception in 1978.
