Thomas Battenberg - Principal

Thomas Battenberg has played principal trumpet with ProMusica Chamber Orchestra since the orchestra was founded in 1978. He is also the principal trumpet with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, leads his own jazz and dixieland bands, and is a frequent soloist in area churches. For twenty-six years, he was a faculty member at the Ohio State University where he taught trumpet, directed the award-winning, internationally acclaimed OSU Jazz Ensemble and was the Assistant Director of the School of Music. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Ohio State University, and a Master of Music degree from Arizona State University.
