William Manley, a native of Columbus, began violin studies with Dr. Kari Gunderson and graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Music from the manhattan School of Music having studied there with Albert Markov, Oleh Krysa, and Sylvia Rosenberg. He completed his Masters at Indiana University under Nelli Shkolnikova. He played with the Schleswieg-Holstein Festival in Germany and the Spoleto Festival in Italy. Residing in Hong Kong, William was a member of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong. With the latter, he performed as assistant concertmaster and guest soloist in January of 2002. In August of 2004, William performed as guest soloist and concertmaster of the Fuzhou Symphony Orchestra in China. From 2003 to 2005, he was a member of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra in Little Rock and also played there with the Rockefeller Sturgis String Quartet. In September of 2005, William happily returned to Ohio as a member of the Dayton Philharmonic, and is now in his third season with ProMusica.
